Clothing and Textiles

The clothing and textile collection at the New York State Museum includes everyday and special occasion clothing and accessories for men, women, and children from the 18th century to the present. Flat textiles include quilts, coverlets, samplers, and household linens.  The items represent a cross section of the items worn by various New Yorkers, many with known family association.
