History

New York State is home to one of the iconic toy manufacturers in the 20th century, Fisher-Price based in East Aurora, NY. The New York State Museum holds an extensive collection of Fisher-Price toys. The Museum also holds a large collection of circus toys, including miniature circus wagons and animals (providing complement to the museum’s collection of circus posters). The collection includes a variety of toys used and collected in New York State, including a large collection of dolls and doll furniture from the 19th-20th century.
