This episode investigates the life and times of Audrey Munson, America’s first supermodel. Born and raised in upstate New York, Audrey Munson would go on to become the most famous artist's model of the Gilded Age, posing for many of the top American artists in the Beaux Arts movement. Sculptures based on Audrey dot the landscape of New York City and are held in museums around the country. Once called “Miss Manhattan,” and famous in movie history for being the first woman to pose nude in a major motion picture, Audrey’s life would take a tragic turn by the age of 40.
