Abstract | Applications of water emulsions of 6 percent DDT plus 3 percent sticker (Love 192 or Ortho Spray Sticker) in the fall successfully reduced white pine weevil (Pissodes strobi [Peck]) damage. Weeviling in treated white pine (Pinus strobus L.) plantations was reduced to an average of 4 percent from a pretreatment weeviling of 20 to 33 percent. Although the reduction was not so good as that obtained in spring treatments, the fall provides more time and better weather conditions for treatment. |
