Abstract | Phymatopterella, a distinctive genus of predominantly Neotropical phorid flies, is recorded for the first time from the Nearctic Region. P. ovatimacula n. sp. is described and illustrated from a series of one female and two males collected near Gainesville, Alachua County, Florida. Existing keys are modified to allow recognition of this genus and species. |
