Abstract | Twenty-three species of black flies have been recorded from New York State (Stone and Jamnback, 1955). In 1955 a hitherto unrecorded species was collected on Long Island, increasing the number to twenty-four. A redescription of the female and first descriptions of the male, pupa and larva of this species are presented below. The characters used in the descriptions are discussed in the publication cited above. |
