Abstract | The large floating bladderwort (Utricularia inflata Walt.) is reported for the first time from New York State. Pertinent literature and the distribution, morphology and cytology of the species are discussed, comparing it with closely related U. radiata Small, a taxon with which it has been historically confused. Recent discovery of the large bladderwort in Massachusetts is noted, suggesting the possibility that its distribution range may be expanding northward.
